Blue Solidago
Ace of Nature was a name inspired by reviewing past pictures earlier this year (2025) and coming across a 2021 picture of spray painted words on the side of a rooftop I was (and am) very fond of. You can see its splendor in the wake of a sunrise to the left.
However, the threads of experiences that were laid out in a densely formed bedrock and soilscape through which this eruption of site-making inspiration was able to make itself visible to me goes a long way backwards and forwards in time.
I have been immensely fond of drawing (and the creative process more broadly) since early childhood. As a teenager, I learned how difficult and unjust experiences can undergo transmutations through art, and how art and creativity in general can be acts of defiance, and even the process of creating or enjoying others’ creative works can act as a spiritually and psychologically protective force.
In my earlier 20’s, around 2016 and 2017, through an assemblage of challenging events, I found that drawing and making music helped me feel alive, helped me feel at home in myself. Around this time, I also spent a few years working in a field adjacent to the gifted education field, which opened me up into a deep exploration of human cognition and neurodivergence. I also began the voyage of a gender transition around this time. And overall, ended up committing much more of my time to drawing, writing, music making, and dedicating myself to living much more firmly in my creative flow moment to moment as whole, while also feeling a new permission to be myself and understand the eccentricities of my mind and what it needs. Though creating has helped me survive, it has also been about Earth, and a desire for a wild, thriving, and prosperous future for the people, in harmony with Earth and wildlife.
This brings me to the present. A time where I'd like to share what I've been working on in many realms with others and find artistic co-conspirators to explore, experiment, and create with. And though survival has often been intertwined with my art making process, I am also interested in what it may be like to create from more joyous places. For a while, I've been dreaming of an idea that I've been referring to as "art camp". In the broadest sense I can say that it is a dream to gather with resonant others, listen deeply to our truths, and create. Though I do envision a general artfulness in any collaborative instigations, I do not solely wish to work with “artists” per se. Creativity, healing, and a care for Earth can be expressed through many, many different outlets, and this dream does have a multi-faceted mosaic quality embedded in its texture.
I am also a Reiki practitioner that integrates an intuitive energy healing approach with RRP, a childhood abuse recovery therapeutic modality created by Amanda Curtin LSCSW. I am currently working on making a website solely focusing on these arenas, however if you feel called to reach out in inquiry about these matters specifically, please feel free to do so.
I'm open to conversation. About creativity. About healing. About “art camp” possibilities. About the art I’ve shared on this site. About a lot of things…the voyages. If you sense a resonance, you can reach out to me at fecundslothdreams@gmail.com or the contact form below.
I will also add in this - I am something of an animist. Intriguingly, I recently came across my favorite definition of animism thus far on a podcast talking about Genghis Khan. I appreciate its simplicity. “Animism is the belief that all objects, places, and creatures possess a spiritual essence. Everything in nature has consciousness and agency, including animals, plants, rocks, rivers, and weather. The term comes from the Latin “anima” meaning spirit or life. Animistic cultures see no separation between spiritual and physical worlds.”
